Paris by night Segway tour

Your Segway By Night tour starts at Place Joffre (next to the equestrian statue of the Marshal, also the meeting  and finishing point).

Sparkling Eiffel Tower: let’s admire the lighting of the Ecole Militaire as well as the sparkles of the Eiffel Tower (after dark, the Eiffel Tower sparkles 5 minutes at the start of each hour 😊).

Art Nouveau Building and Russian Orthodox Cathedral: after having crossed the Champ de Mars, you will go up the Rapp Avenue to appreciate the nocturnal enhancement of the Art Nouveau building (by Jules Lavirotte) and the 5 bulbs of the Russian Cathedral of the Holy Trinity.

Quays of the Seine: we cross the Quai d’Orsay and we are now on the Quays of the Seine. Here, you have a view on The Alma Bridge (and its Zouave), the Bateaux-Mouches and Invalides Bridge. You will pass the “floating” Fluctuart Street Art gallery and its light projections on the banks of the Seine before entering the ornate Alexander the 3rd bridge lit by 32 bronze candelabras.

Petit and Grand Palais: after crossing the bridge, we continue on Winston Churchill Avenue where you will be seized by the illumination of the 150 meters of facade of the Petit Palais.

Champs-Elysées and Place de la Concorde: you cross the Champs-Elysées (where a magnificent perspective of the avenue awaits you), and after admiring the monumental Grille du Coq (behind the Palais de l’Elysée), you will cross the peaceful Champs-Elysées Gardens (don’t be afraid by the former French President Georges Pompidou) to arrive at Place de la Concorde. The largest square in Paris will surprise you with the lighting of its two monumental fountains.

Your next stop is the Sedar Senghor footbridge, from where you can admire the lighting of the Musée d’Orsay. After crossing the bridge, you will head towards the National Assembly where you will appreciate the sober lighting of the facade.

Our final stop will be at the Hôtel des Invalides. The light emanating from the dome, fully covered with gold leaves, should not leave you indifferent.

Where does “Paris: City of Lights” come from ? It comes from Louis XIV. The aim of the light was to reduce the crime that plagued Paris (and not to beautify the city). The year 1667 therefore saw the beginnings of urban public lighting with the installation of lanterns and torches in the streets and alleys of the capital.
